Solar EPC Contractor in Oman

AL-DHAW is a DCRP S2 certified solar EPC contractor in Oman, with a portfolio of more than 20 MW. We take full responsibility for your solar project, from the first site survey to the day your system goes live. One contract and one accountable team cover engineering, procurement and construction. The result is a system designed for Oman’s heat, dust and grid rules, and approved without costly rework.

What Is Solar EPC?

EPC stands for Engineering, Procurement and Construction. Under an EPC contract, a single company designs the system, buys the equipment, builds it and hands it over working. You avoid managing separate designers, suppliers and installers, and you avoid disputes over who is responsible when something goes wrong.

For businesses in Oman, this matters. A grid-connected system must be delivered by DCRP-approved companies and pass Nama’s review before connection. Design, equipment and installation all have to meet the same standard.

On-Grid, Off-Grid and Hybrid Solar Systems

We design and build all three system types. The right one depends mainly on whether your site is connected to the Nama distribution network.

On-Grid Solar (Connected to the Nama Network)

The system connects to the Nama grid and supplies your consumption directly, with no batteries. It is the only system type Nama approves for connection to its network. It has the lowest investment and the fastest payback. It is best for homes, businesses and facilities already on the grid, and requires Nama approval and Nama grid connection.

Off-Grid Solar (Sites Without the Nama Network)

The system runs independently, with battery storage supplying power day and night. It suits farms, remote sites, telecom towers and camps where the Nama network does not reach. It needs careful battery and load sizing to cover your full demand.

Hybrid Solar (Sites Without the Nama Network)

The system combines solar, batteries and a backup generator in one controlled system. Solar and batteries carry most of the load, and the generator runs only when needed. The result is much lower fuel consumption and running costs. It is best for remote sites currently running on diesel generators.

Our Solar EPC Process

  1. Site survey and feasibility. We assess your roof or land, shading, structure and electricity consumption, then confirm the right system size under current grid connection limits.
  2. Detailed engineering design. Our engineers produce the PV layout, energy yield simulation, single-line diagram and bill of quantities to Omani technical requirements.
  3. Approvals. We prepare and submit the application to Nama and coordinate the grid connection.
  4. Tier-1 equipment procurement. We source modules, inverters and balance-of-system components from established manufacturers, specified for high-temperature operation.
  5. Construction and installation. Our site teams install mounting structures, modules, cabling and inverters under strict safety and quality supervision.
  6. Testing and commissioning. We carry out electrical tests, inverter configuration and performance checks before energisation.
  7. Handover and training. You receive as-built drawings, test reports, warranty documents and training on monitoring your system.

Designed for Oman’s Climate

Standard designs lose output in the Gulf. Our EPC engineering accounts for:

  • Heat: we select modules with low temperature coefficients and leave ventilation gaps under panels. See how solar panels perform in Omani heat.
  • Dust and sand: tilt, row spacing and cleaning access are planned from day one.
  • Coastal salt: in coastal sites, we use corrosion-resistant structures and sealed connections.
  • Inverter placement: inverters go in shaded, ventilated locations to avoid thermal derating.

Recent Solar Installations

  • 85 kWp rooftop system for OETC, delivered with TLS: 2 × 40 kW Huawei inverters and Jinko Solar 715 W panels.
  • 67 kWp on-grid ground-mount system for a farm in Al Suwaiq: Huawei inverter and Jinko Solar panels, with Nama approval and grid connection.
  • 63 kWp system in Burimi: read the case study.

Who We Build For

  • Commercial buildings: offices, hotels, malls and schools cutting daytime electricity costs.
  • Industrial facilities: factories and warehouses with large roofs and high consumption.
  • Ground-mounted and carport systems: sites with available land or parking.
  • Remote sites: farms, camps and towers using off-grid or hybrid systems.

No Budget? Solar Leasing Through Investors and Developers

You don’t need to fund your solar system yourself. AL-DHAW can connect you with solar investors and developers who finance the system at your site through a leasing agreement.

How Solar Leasing Works

  1. We assess your site and electricity consumption to confirm the project is viable.
  2. We connect you with an investor or developer who funds the full system cost.
  3. The system is installed at your site with no upfront capital from you.
  4. You pay a fixed lease over an agreed term, while the system produces your electricity.

The Benefits for You

  • Zero upfront investment: your capital stays in your business.
  • A lower cost per kWh: the lease is structured so your effective electricity cost is lower than what you pay today.
  • Predictable monthly costs for the lease term.
  • Faster decision-making: no need to wait for capital budget approval.

Who qualifies? Leasing works best for sites with high daytime consumption, suitable roof or land area, and a long-term presence at the location, such as factories, warehouses, hotels, malls, schools and farms. We check eligibility at the site assessment stage. Learn more about solar leasing in Oman.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a solar EPC project take in Oman?

Most commercial projects take a few months from signed contract to commissioning, and approvals often take longer than installation itself. Timing depends on system size, site readiness, equipment lead times and approval processing. We give you a project schedule at the start and update it at each milestone.

Do I need approval for a grid-connected solar system?

Yes. Systems connected to the Nama network need approval before connection. As a DCRP S2 certified company, AL-DHAW prepares and submits the application to Nama as part of the EPC scope, so compliance is built into the design.

Can I install a hybrid or battery system on the Nama grid?

No. Nama approves only on-grid systems for connection to its network. Off-grid and hybrid systems are designed for sites without the Nama network, such as farms, remote facilities and generator-powered sites.

What size solar system can I install?

System size depends on your consumption, available area and current grid connection rules. We size every system to maximise savings within those limits. Our 50% rule explainer covers the sizing cap in detail.

Can I install solar in Oman without paying upfront?

Yes. Through our investor and developer network, the full system cost can be financed under a leasing agreement. You pay a fixed lease instead of a large upfront investment, and your effective cost per kWh is lower than your current electricity cost. AL-DHAW assesses your site and connects you with a suitable investor.

Does the EPC contract include maintenance?

EPC covers delivery up to handover. After that, we offer a separate O&M contract with monitoring, cleaning and preventive maintenance to protect your system’s output.
