On 22 September 2026, the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) announced that the Sultanate of Oman will host the 23rd World Wind Energy Conference (WWEC2027). It will be the first edition ever held in the Gulf. The event will be co-organised by Nama Power and Water Procurement (Nama PWP) and WWEA, with support from the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/al-dhaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/oman-wind-energy-conference-wwec2027.jpg\" alt=\"Wind energy Oman: Oman to host the World Wind Energy Conference 2027 (WWEC2027)\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Was Announced: WWEC2027 Comes to Oman<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The World Wind Energy Conference has run since 2002, when the first edition took place in Berlin. It moves across continents and brings together developers, manufacturers, investors, researchers and governments. The most recent edition, WWEC2025, was held in Shantou, China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Choosing Oman for 2027 is a first for the region. WWEA says the aim is to support Oman and its neighbours in their shift towards wind power and a renewable-based economy. According to the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, grid-connected renewables grew from <strong>4.26% in 2024 to 9.46% in 2025<\/strong>.
